Lance grew up in Monroeville, Alabama where he began following Christ at age 12 and preached his first sermon at age 16. He received his Bachelor’s degree at Auburn University in Montgomery, his Masters of Divinity at New Orleans Seminary and his Doctorate of Ministry at Samford University in Birmingham. Lance began his full time ministry in 1994. He led two churches in Alabama, and then served as senior pastor of FBC Muskogee, OK for 10 years before coming to Mena.
Lance and his wife Melina married in 1994. They'll both tell you their relationship has always been good and is still getting better. It seems the closer they get to God, the closer they get with each other. Melina is a busy lady these days. She is a Loan Officer at Union Bank in Mena, and still manages to take great care of Lance and their two sons, Jake and Luke.
God renews Lance's soul through long walks in the woods, inspirational reading, and quiet conversations (prayer) over fresh morning coffee. For Lance, Christian life is a journey which begins in this life and continues right on out into forever – forever seeking and finding and following the Christ he met as a child. His life verse is Matthew 7:7 “Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be opened unto you.”
